How is the Mattress Constructed?

The 15″ profile of DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress consists of 6 layers of material. From its Cashex Cashmere Blend cover up to its Stay-Put Control foam layer, DreamCloud impresses customers with its construction.

Mattress Cover

The DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress is encased in its signature cover. This lightweight cover is made of Mongolian cashmere, an ultra-soft fabric blend. This type of fabric is known for its natural cooling and moisture-wicking properties. Compared with other mattress covers, it is tufted to the layers underneath to prevent it from bunching whenever you move. DreamCloud’s cover even encases the bottom part of the mattress to prevent it from shifting. You can sleep peacefully without worrying about your bed sliding out of position.

Comfort Layer

For the comfort layer, DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress has the 1.5″ TrueLoftEuroTop layer. This premium high-loft material is quilted into the mattress cover. Stitched by artisans, the EuroTop is hand-anchored to dense foam by authentic double tufts. DreamCloud guarantees unmatched workmanship and long-lasting durability. A layer of polyfill material inside provides a soft, cushioning feel. Next is a 0.5″ polyfoam that weighs 1.5 lbs and provides a firmer feel and structure to the layer on top. The comfort layers also include the 1.5″ gel-infused memory foam.

This Point-Activated foam provides support to all pressure points such as the shoulders, lumbar, and hips. This foam has 2.5 PCF density and 10 IFD rating which adds to the soft layers of the mattress. More importantly, it can contour slightly to the body and provide a slow response. Even though DreamCloud contains memory foam which absorbs pressure, its firmness prevents it from cuddling your body like other all-foam mattresses. Regardless, its memory foam layer with infused cooling gel can give you a cooler and more satisfying sleep.

Transitional Layer

This 2.5″ layer with 1.8 PCF density is made of polyfoam material. As the transitional layer, it serves as a barrier between the comfort layers and the dense support layer underneath. It also has a 20 IFD rating which makes it slightly firmer than the comfort layers above it.

Base Layer

DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress has 2 layers of materials that work as its base. The first one is its 8″ thick layer of Edge Shield Coil System. This heavy-duty edge to edge support system consists of individually encased coils that are responsive enough to give it a slight bounce. This high-gauge layer also has a double-row rim that ensures its superior edge support.

These coils help ease back pain and promote proper spinal alignment. Beneath this layer is the Stay-Put Control foam that is made of a porous foam base. This thin foam increases the airflow and helps re-distribute vibrations in the Edge Shield Coil System throughout the mattress.

Performance Ratings

Now that you know how DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress is constructed, it’s time to take a closer look at its performance. After gathering testing results and testimonials from verified owners, we based our ratings on these factors:

Considering that DreamCloud is still a young company, they have surprisingly positive reviews when it comes to durability. We checked the quality of materials that are used in the mattress to estimate how long it will last. We noticed that DreamCloud used medium to low-density layers of foams together with solid support from individually-wrapped coils.

Its foam layers with medium density can last 5-6 years though signs of wear may occur. However, its thick layer of coils prevents the mattress from sagging and losing its support sooner. Therefore, this layer can extend the lifespan of DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress to 7-8 years. With the combination of its foam layers and innerspring layer, the mattress should last longer than standard all-foam mattresses. However, the heavier you are, the more body impressions can form in the mattress, which is normal. We recommend rotating the mattress to reduce the number of body impressions.

Motion Isolation

Upon testing the mattress, we found that it has a good motion isolation feature. Its thick combination of foams and soft cashmere on top reduces the motion transfer around the mattress. Thanks to its layers of foams, the movement is absorbed and distributed equally throughout the entire mattress. Meanwhile, the innerspring layer provides just enough combination of strength and bounce. Whether you’re sleeping, sitting, or even watching TV while propped up on your elbows, the mattress feels steady and comfortable. You can move freely around the mattress or get in/out without causing too much disturbance to your partner.

Edge Support

The edge support is one of the most important factors that can make or break a mattress. If you sink too much or experience difficulty getting in or out of the bed, this means that your mattress has poor edge support. The higher quality its materials and constructions are, the more edge support a mattress can provide. This also allows sleepers to maximize every inch of their mattress to every corner and side. You should not feel like you are rolling off the bed anytime you sleep near or on the edge. We can say that DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress excels according to tests. There is minimal sinkage while sitting and lying along its edges. Together, its different layers provide sufficient edge support to the mattress.

Pressure Relief

If the mattress has enough edge support to keep you from falling off the bed, it should also provide pressure relief. According to the firmness scale, the Luxury Hybrid has a 6.5 rating with 1 as the softest and 10 as the hardest. Its Point-Activated foam is a gel-infused memory foam that can quickly relieve pressure points. All types of sleepers can take advantage of DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress from lightweight to heavyweight sleepers.

Sleepers can easily nestle into the bed and feel the blend of forgiving memory foam and soft pillow top. It provides sufficient pressure relief along the shoulders, back, hips, and knees even for combo sleepers. Since DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress is responsive, it is easier to shift into different positions.

Temperature Control

Even though DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress has memory foam, sleepers don’t find overheating to be an issue. After all, its memory foam is infused with cooling gel beads which absorb the excess body heat. Then, this layer disseminates the heat equally around the mattress to prevent trapping heat. On top of this, DreamCloud added a layer of innerspring to make the mattress more breathable. These layers promote better airflow through the mattress.

If you think that poor bed frames or platforms are always to blame for making noise, think again. It could be your mattress and not your bed frame that is interrupting your sleep. Normally, all-foam mattresses don’t make noises when you move. However, the individually wrapped coils of hybrid mattresses may trigger noise as a response to movements. Fortunately, those who tested DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress didn’t find the noise very noticeable even if they slept with a partner.

Good for Sex

Finding a bed that has a high rating for great sex can be important for your relationship. Make sure to include this in your list of must-haves. Based on testers and customer reviews, DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress received a high rating for sex due to its responsiveness. Its bounciness is thanks to its 8″ tall pocketed coils.

Its construction, discreet performance, and strong edge support also give it more of an advantage over its competitors. Couples and lovers don’t have to worry about accidentally falling or slipping off the edge of the bed. You won’t be bothered by a noisy mattress either.

Mattress Rating

In this part, we will focus on the mattress ratings for DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress. To evaluate the mattress ratings, sleepers of different sizes and weights tested the mattress in different sleeping positions. This way, we can help you find the ideal size and weight of sleepers that the DreamCloud Mattress can accommodate.

Lightweight sleepers – below 130  lbs

For most lightweight testers, the DreamCloud Mattress feels firmer than luxury-firm (that is medium-firm). The mattress doesn’t conform to the body like most all-foam mattresses with memory foam do. Sleepers who weigh less than 130 lbs tend to sleep more on top of the mattress without sinking. This also means it doesn’t conform much to their pressure points including their hips and shoulders. However, those who slept on their stomach and back felt more comfortable. Therefore, this mattress might suit lightweight sleepers who prefer a firm mattress or have back pain. However, we don’t recommend it to those who want a softer mattress where they can sink despite their weight.

Medium weight sleepers – 130-230 lbs

Compared with lightweight sleepers, medium weight sleepers can feel more support and comfort from DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress. It can accommodate medium weight sleepers in all kinds of positions without feeling too much stress in their pressure points. As mentioned above, this DreamCloud Mattress is not the kind of bed that can engulf you into a hug. Instead, it is better for sleepers who prioritize getting sufficient support to keep their spine properly aligned. It can alleviate back pain issues to help you achieve the sleep you’ve been longing for.

Heavyweight sleepers- over 230 lbs

Technically, the DreamCloud Mattress can accommodate sleepers of all shapes and sizes. However, heavyweight sleepers who weigh more than 230 lbs get the most out of the DreamCloud Mattress. Its hybrid construction provides more support and prevents it from sagging. Heavyweight sleepers who prefer to sleep on their sides enjoy the most comfort since it keeps their spine aligned. However, other heavy sleepers in a variety of sleeping positions did get good pressure relief. Therefore, DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress is the best for heavyweight sleepers who want a balanced soft and firm support.

Is it Good for Stomach/Back/Side Sleepers?

As mentioned above, the DreamCloud Mattress can accommodate all individuals in different sleeping positions. However, the level of comfort depends on whether they are considered lightweight, medium weight, or heavyweight sleepers. The DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress is not designed to be super soft but it feels good for back and stomach sleepers.

It provides the essential support that is needed in these positions regardless of the sleepers’ weight. Some side sleepers can also enjoy this mattress thanks to its healthy balance of support and pressure relief. They can get the support they need along their shoulders and hips when on their side. Combo sleepers will benefit the most from this mattress since they can shift into different positions effortlessly.

DreamCloud’s Luxury Hybrid Mattress comes with a limited warranty that customers can enjoy for a lifetime. The warranty guarantees that all DreamCloud Mattresses are free from any defect in workmanship and materials. As long as you are the first owner of the mattress, you can take advantage of this warranty.

In the warranty highlights, the mattress can be replaced with a brand new DreamCloud Mattress for the first 10 years. In the next 10 or more years, you can get a complete repair and recover your old DreamCloud Mattress. You can still replace your mattress after more than 10 years of use. However, all transportation charges will be put aside only if manufacturing defect/s or materials failure is confirmed in the mattress. Your mattress should be used properly on a suitable bed frame or platform as the warranty will be void if the mattress has been abused, neglected, or damaged due to improper use.

Free Trials

DreamCloud provides a full year or 365 nights of opportunity for customers to enjoy its Luxury Hybrid Mattress. Compared with other companies that start the trial period once the mattress is delivered, DreamCloud has a more tempting offer. The 365 night trial of the mattress starts 30 days after the delivery of the mattress.

Why? The company follows studies that it takes about 30 days for the body to adapt to a new bed. Thus, DreamCloud wants customers to be more comfortable with the mattress before they make their verdict. After the first 30 days, the 365-night trial will automatically start. In case customers decide the mattress is not for them, a DreamCloud Sleep Concierge will assist them. The mattress can be donated to a local organization within the customers’ community or be disposed of.

How Does DreamCloud Compare with other Brands?

DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress vs. Leesa Hybrid Mattress

The DreamCloud Mattress costs $1,199 while the Leesa Mattress costs $1,699 (Queen). When it comes to the sleep trial, DreamCloud offers 365 nights while Leesa offers only 100 nights. Leesa comes with up to a 10-year warranty period, while DreamCloud offers a lifetime warranty. However, both brands offer free returns which customers appreciate.

Both mattresses are CertiPUR-US Certified with a medium-firm comfort level to support all types of sleepers and help relieve pressure points. However, DreamCloud is still thicker while Leesa is 11″ thick. Since it has more layers and thicker spring coils, DreamCloud offers more support for lightweight to heavyweight sleepers.

DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress vs. Casper Wave Hybrid Mattress

The DreamCloud is 2″ thicker than the Casper Mattress. It also has an advantage when it comes to its cashmere cover, quilted top panel, and euro top. The DreamCloud also includes functional handles on both sides of the mattress so you can carry it around more easily.

Both mattresses are CertPUR-US Certified and crafted with cooling properties. You can also use these mattresses with all bed frames while you maximize their trial nights and warranty. Casper provides a 120-night trial and a 15-year warranty. The Casper is also more expensive by over $1,000.
