Transition Layer For the transition layer, the Layla Memory Foam Mattress has a thin material that is made of convoluted polyfoam. This 2″ layer is also known as the max airflow support foam which focuses on deep channeling the air. It is located under the memory foam to provide customized support using zoned SMT. Support Layer For the support layer, the Layla Memory Foam Mattress has a single layer of support core foam. It is common in flippable mattresses since both sides of the bed share the same layer. This 4″ layer is made of a high-density polyfoam that provides a steady base for the softer foams. Since one side has a thicker layer of comfort foam, it provides deeper sinkage. However, this doesn’t mean that its sleep surface is not susceptible to body indentations which can still develop over time. Aside from flipping the mattress, we also recommend rotating it every quarter or at least every 6 months. This way, the chances of forming permanent body indentations are reduced. The lifespan of the comfort layers can be extended too. Motion Isolation Compared with other types of mattresses in the market, the Layla Mattress has pretty good motion isolation performance. This can be noticed on either side of the bed whether you sleep alone or with a partner. It has a slower response time which is one of the most common characteristics of memory foam mattresses. Still, the motion isolation of the Layla Memory Foam Mattress can be considered on par. Even though both sides are designed to get the job done, the softer side can minimize more motion transfer. Edge Support When it comes to edge support, the Memory Foam Mattress has a fair performance. Testers tried to sit and lie on both sides of the mattress to know how they would hold up. Its layers of foams on both sides and construction slow down its response time. If you use the softer surface you can sink deep into the mattress due to its body-hugging design.
