In case you didn’t know, Sealy has a wide range of mattress options that fall under different collections. There’s the Response Line (Innerspring), Conform Line (Memory Foam), and Hybrid Line. In this comparison, we will review the Premium Mattress as the most popular option in Sealy’s Conform Line.
The Sealy Conform Premium Mattress contains a couple of layers that make up its 13″ profile. Let’s start with its outer fabric, the Ultra-Stretch ComfortLoft cover with Chill. This is made of a super stretchable mid-loft knit fabric that is cool to the touch. Meanwhile, its top layer is made of Sealy ComfortSense foam which is the latest innovation in gel-infused memory foam. Its second layer is the Sealy Chill Gel Memory Foam conforming gel memory foam. This means that it is also designed with Chill Cooling Technology. This mattress also has a SealySupport Gel Foam layer which increases its flexibility and durability. Of course, Sealy’s Conform Premium Mattress features Posturepedic Technology which is incorporated in its denser memory foam. This targets a wide range of sleepers from those with petite to large frames. Therefore, more customers can take advantage of this bed regardless of their size and weight. Depending on your preferred comfort level which will be discussed below, all mattresses under Sealy’s Conform Line are made with all-foam construction. Most importantly, it is made with AllergenProtect and MoistureProtect features to prevent allergens and harmful bugs or insects from pestering you.
The Sealy Conform Premium Mattress comes in two firmness/comfort levels. Depending on your personal preference, you can get this mattress in either firm or ultra-plush comfort level. The firm version has a 12″ profile with 1″ SealyChill Gel Memory Foam, 2″ SealyCoolTM Gel Memory Foam, 2″ Sealy ComfortSense Gel Memory Foam, and 7″ SealySupport Gel Base Foam. Next is its ultra-plush version which has a 2″ SealyChill Gel Memory Foam, 3″ Sealy ComfortSense Gel Memory Foam, 2″ SealyCool Gel Foam, and 6″ SealySupport Gel Base Foam. Whether you’re petite, average, or a little heavy, and comfort level will should work for you.
To guarantee its comfort and support, this mattress uses a 3-zone SealyChill Gel Memory Foam with PCM gold. Meanwhile, its SealyCool Gel Memory Foam is made of body-conforming material that is infused with cooling comfort. This allows this layer to provide a more flexible and durable support. At the same time, its Sealy ComfortSense Gel Memory Foam is there to reinforce its previous layers. It can respond to unique body shapes and sizes. Take note that the mattress also has Posturepedic Technology which provides support that “hugs” sleepers. This denser memory foam are placed in the top layer and middle area to get the right amount of support. Even the heaviest part of your body can stay level with the rest of your body.
If there’s one thing that many hot sleepers love about this mattress, it’s the cooling solution that it offers. Compared with the traditional memory foams out there, each layer of foam in this mattress is infused with cooling gel. Its cooling beads absorb the excess heat from the body then push it out of the mattress so you can sleep comfortably.
At Simmons, there are over 20 mattresses that you can choose from. There’s the Beautyrest, BackCare, BeautySleep, and Dreamscape Series. For this review, we will focus on the Beautyrest Series which includes the Beautyrest Star Attraction.
The Simmons Beautyrest Star Attraction is a non-slip mattress that is constructed with a plush top. This model has an 11″ profile. Starting with its cover, this bed is encased in a high-quality fabric that is made with Tencel SurfaceCool fiber. This layer of vertically oriented Tencel fibers is placed just beneath the cover to improve the feel of the surface. Its cover is made of Aircool Beautyedge foam encasement which offers multiple benefits. It also has a GelTouch layer that adds a plush comfort foam to the entire mattress. Meanwhile, its AirCool Design increases its comfort level up to the edge thanks also to its AirCool foam. Since this is an innerspring mattress, we can’t forget about its layer with barrel-shaped pocketed coils. Simmons invented these coils to conform naturally to the body and contribute to the uninterrupted sleep of consumers. Lastly, this mattress has a non-flip design which helps it maintain its stability even without flipping the mattress.
Sealy offers its Conform Premium Mattress in both firm and ultra-plush comfort levels. At Simmons, this Star Attraction model from the Beautyrest Series comes with a medium comfort level. Its feel is perfect for those who don’t want a mattress that is too soft or too firm. Specifically, this innerspring mattress can be the perfect bed for back, side, stomach, and combo sleepers.
Like an innerspring mattress, the main support system of this mattress is its pocketed coil system. This provides optimal support and reduced motion transfer to avoid interrupting yours or your partner’s sleep. In fact, the 240 lbs steel drum rollator tested this support system to prove its durability and stability. Thus, you can know that each mattress from Simmons is always tested and proven before customers receive it. Also, its GelTouch feature provides an extra measure of pressure relief to the entire mattress to prevent body pains. Regardless of your preferred sleeping position, its pressure relief can make a big difference to your sleep experience. Even its Aircool Beautyedge foam encasement offers support and the right amount of stability on the edge.
Is sweating during your sleep a problem? If that’s the case, then its Tencel SurfaceCool Fiber can solve that by absorbing the excess heat from your body. This heat is then managed by its GelTouch and AirCool design which help increase the airflow through the mattress. Its layer of AirCool foam features a channeled design to promote better air circulation. You won’t have to worry about sweating anymore.
When it comes to the differences between the Sealy and Simmons mattress, the Sealy mattress we reviewed is a foam mattress while the Simmons mattress is an innerspring mattress. Though both have foam layers, the Conform Premium model doesn’t have a layer of supportive coils. Coils provide optimal support but also the minimal transfer of motion throughout the mattress surface. However, Sealy’s multiple layers of high-density foam can compete with the level of support that Simmons’ coils can provide. Sealy prides itself on offering a mattress that is made with Posturepedic Technology which is incorporated in denser foam. Compared with regular foam mattresses, this can provide more support where you need it the most.
